Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- your name, business name, role and contact details
- website and project brief information, business requirements and design preferences
- account, profile and authentication information
- customer portal activity
- support enquiries, change requests, messages and project communications
- billing, subscription and transaction records
- domain and website details and content you supply
- IP address, browser, device, login, session, security and basic usage logs where generated
- cookie and analytics information where analytics is enabled
Where payment functionality is used, payment card information is handled by the payment processor. Launch North generally receives customer, transaction and payment-status information rather than complete card details.
02
How we collect information
We collect information directly through contact forms, the guided brief, accounts and the customer portal, support requests, email, calls, payments and other customer communications.
We may collect technical information automatically through website, server and security logs, and through cookies or analytics where enabled. We may also receive information from third-party services when you authorise or integrate them with your website or account.
03
How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and recommend or scope suitable packages
- design, build, manage and support websites
- administer customer accounts and portal access
- process billing and maintain transaction records
- communicate service, project and account information
- provide security, prevent fraud, and support backups and recovery
- improve our services and understand usage through analytics
- meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations
- send marketing communications where permitted
04
Package recommendations and automation
The guided brief may use your answers to generate or assist with a package recommendation. A recommendation is guidance, not a decision about your legal rights. A Launch North specialist can review the brief and discuss the scope with you.
If we introduce automated tools that materially change how personal information is used, we will update this policy and provide any notice required by law.
05
Service providers and disclosure
We may share information where reasonably necessary with providers supporting hosting, databases and authentication, email delivery, payments, analytics, domains, infrastructure and customer-authorised integrations.
Current or planned providers relevant to these functions include Supabase for database and authentication services, Resend for transactional email when active, and Stripe for payment processing if and when payment functionality is active. Our hosting and development infrastructure also processes information needed to operate and maintain the service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for unrelated third-party marketing without permission unless disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.
06
Overseas processing
Some cloud and service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Provider locations can vary by service and configuration. Where applicable, we take reasonable steps in relation to overseas handling as required by Australian privacy law.
07
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls, authentication, managed infrastructure, secure transmission where supported, backups, monitoring and least-necessary access. No online system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08
Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide services and meet legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution requirements. We then delete or de-identify it where appropriate. Backups may retain copies for a limited period before they are overwritten or securely removed.
09
Access and correction
You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable legal exceptions. Send your request through our contact page and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant record and respond.
11
Marketing communications
We may send service and marketing communications where permitted. You can opt out of marketing by using an unsubscribe mechanism provided in the message or by contacting us. We may still send operational, project, account, billing, service or security messages when necessary.
12
Data breaches
Where applicable, we will assess and respond to eligible data breaches in accordance with Australian privacy laws, including notification obligations where required.
13
Third-party links
Our websites and services may link to external websites or services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their operators. You should review their privacy information before providing personal information to them.
14
Children's privacy
Our services are directed to businesses and adults. They are not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children.
15
Privacy complaints
Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable period.
If the Privacy Act applies and you remain dissatisfied, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
16
Policy updates
We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will be published on this page. We may communicate material changes directly where appropriate.
17
